About My Work: Creative Presence for Writers and Seekers

If you’re a writer searching for a deeper well of creativity or a spiritual seeker on a path of healing—or both—I welcome you. My work will help you unlock the transformative potential that lies at the intersection of contemplation and creative self-expression.

You can access a profound and lasting source of resilience, insight, and wisdom by fusing the stillness of meditation with the expressive freedom of writing. The pillars of this journey inward, a practice I call “creative presence,” are:

How Can Creative Presence Serve You?

As a Tibet-House certified meditation teacher and a practitioner with over three decades of study in writing craft and spirituality, I offer a practical approach to help you integrate your inner and outer lives. I do this by sharing the insights and techniques that have helped me along the way. I can teach you to:

  • Silence Your Inner Critic: Cultivate true confidence through courage and compassion.

  • Find Your Voice: Create a safe, supportive space to explore your most profound truths and enhance your self-worth through authentic self-expression.

  • Stimulate Creative Discovery: Tap into a boundless source of artistic inspiration, drawing directly from the visionary nature of your mind.

  • Build Resilience and Wisdom: Build a better life, pebble by pebble, through the clear insight that arises when creativity

Proven Practices for Healing and Growth

I’ve designed and facilitated healing arts programs for some of New York City’s most underserved communities in partnership with the NYC Department of Health, the Nuyorican Poets Café, Bronx Council on the Arts, the Carter Burden Network, PEN America, and Acacia Network. These partnerships have allowed me to serve:

  • Recovering opioid users: My workshops have offered tools to cultivate inner calm and reduce instances of relapse.

  • Isolated senior citizens: I’ve used sound meditation and visual artmaking to delay mental decline and foster connection.

  • Undocumented and LGBTQI youth: My sessions have provided platforms for young people to build self-worth and social identity through creative self-expression.

  • General audiences: Most of my students have been people like you and me, those who are seeking creative and spiritual breakthroughs through discipline and focus.

Regardless of the communities I serve, the results are the same: reduced stress, creative wellbeing, and a renewed focus on positive life experiences. It would be an honor to teach you what I’ve learned on this transcendent journey, since this magic belongs to all of us.
